The String School of Franklin

The String School of Franklin, 2018-2019

The String School offers instruction to students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades who do not have string instruction during the school day, and provides 6th - 12th graders in school-day ensembles the chance to expand their knowledge and increase their range. We offer lessons on the violin, viola, cello and bass.

DATES:  Monday classes begin September 24, 2018; Thursday classes begin September 27, 2018
LOCATIONS:  Mondays: Horace Mann Middle School; Thursdays: Franklin High School
CONCERTS:  January 28, 2019 and May 13, 2019 for all students

CLASS TYPES:
Beginner I -- no playing experience. 45-minutes, $300.
Beginner II -- one year of playing experience.  60-minutes, $325.
Intermediate Strings -- two years of playing experience.  60-minutes, $325.
Preparatory Orchestra* -- grades 6-8 (grade 5 with teacher recommendation).  60-minutes, $325.
Repertory Orchestra* -- advanced, audition-only orchestra.  60-minutes, $350.  Returning students may register without an audition. New students must audition and be accepted before registering. Please email Diane Plouffe to schedule an audition.

*Middle and High school students need to be enrolled in an orchestra during the school day to participate in these two classes. Students without an in-school music program may request admission if they are taking weekly private music lessons.
