Computer science courses for students entering grades 3 to 8.  Through the combination of programming and game design, students will develop a strong understanding of how to use technology to create.

Minescratch - Entering Grades 3 - 5

8:30 to 11:30 AM ~ July 24 to 28minecraft

Students will dive into the exciting world of computer coding through Scratch.  Scratch, a project of the MIT Media Lab, is a block-based application that allows anyone to learn how to program and make their own video game.

PokemonGo  - Entering Grades 3 - 5
8:30 to 11:30 ~ July 31 to August 4
Horace Mann Middle School

Gotta catch’em all! Students will dive into the exciting world of computer coding and Pokémon through Scratch, developed at MIT. Scratch is a block-based application designed to make it simple for anyone to learn programming. Throughout the course, students create Poke projects like their very own Pokedex or Pokémon Battle game!

Minecraft Modding - Entering Grades 6 - 8
8:30 to 11:30 ~ July 10 to July 14
Horace Mann Middle School

Why just "play" Minecraft when you can "create" Minecraft? Students will learn how to code in Java by creating their own mods for Minecraft, such as crafting a sword out of mushy bananas or spawling a flying golden cow!
