Ms. Linnea Henningson
Director, Elementary Glee
Hello! My name is Miss Henningson. The 2020-2021 school year has been my first year teaching here in Franklin and it has been wonderful! I wanted to take the time to let you know a little bit more about myself and my musical experience.
In the past years I have received extensive training in classical voice/music education and accelerated through a variety of teaching experiences. In addition to the required courses and methods classes in music education, I have done extensive work primarily with choirs, a cappella ensembles, and have attended conventions such as the American Choral Directors Association National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2015. For over three years, I was heavily involved in a cappella and I have taught workshops at conventions such as Boston Sings, a national a cappella festival that takes place in Boston, Massachusetts every spring. My responsibilities included teaching workshops on how to enhance repertoire through artistic expression and musical elements in addition to leading masterclasses. I have also had the pleasure of being president of the American Choral Directors Association Student Chapter at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Being responsible for the organization of meetings and special events while working with my fellow officers has taught me about professional development through leadership and teamwork.
Since then I have taught elementary music in central Massachusetts and even taught for a year in Denver, Colorado. All of this experience has now led me to Franklin and directing our middle school Chorus Ensembles!
My experience teaching students has been nothing short of life changing. I am committed to inspiring students to find a love of music and the arts. Not only this, but I am dedicated to helping and encouraging students to discover who they are and work as a team in addition to assisting them with becoming good musicians.
I hope you'll consider joining Glee with me!
